2

Add Your WordPress Site

Connecting your WordPress website is the most important step in setting up your auto blog system. Blogauto.ai needs access to your WordPress site to publish blog posts automatically on your behalf. Without this connection, AI-generated articles cannot reach your website.

What you will need

  • Your WordPress website URL (example: https://yourwebsite.com)
  • Your WordPress username — the login name you use for wp-admin
  • A WordPress Application Password — generated specifically for Blogauto.ai (explained below)
Why Blogauto.ai needs WordPress access

For automated blog publishing to work, our platform must connect to your WordPress site through the WordPress REST API — a secure, standard publishing interface built into every modern WordPress installation. This connection is strictly limited to creating new blog posts. Blogauto.ai cannot read your existing content, change your theme, install plugins, modify settings, or access any other part of your website. Your site remains completely under your control at all times.

What is a WordPress Application Password?

An Application Password is a built-in WordPress security feature designed specifically for third-party tools and integrations like autoblogging platforms. Introduced in WordPress 5.6, it creates a separate, limited-access credential that is entirely different from your main admin password.

Application Passwords give scoped API access — in Blogauto's case, only the ability to publish new blog posts through the WordPress REST API. Your main WordPress administrator password, admin panel, themes, plugins, existing posts, media library, all user accounts, and every other part of your website are completely inaccessible to Blogauto.ai.

Your Security is Protected
  • Blogauto.ai will NEVER ask for your main WordPress admin password
  • Application Passwords cannot access WordPress settings, themes, or plugins — only blog publishing
  • You can revoke Blogauto's access instantly at any time directly from WordPress
  • Revoking the Application Password does not affect your main WordPress login in any way

How to Generate a WordPress Application Password — Step by Step

  1. Log in to your WordPress Admin panel — open your browser and go to: https://yourwebsite.com/wp-admin
  2. In the left sidebar menu, click Users then click Profile
Alternative: hover over your name in the top right corner of the admin bar and click "Edit Profile"
  3. Scroll down toward the bottom of the Profile page until you see the "Application Passwords" section
  4. In the text field labelled "New Application Password Name", type: Blogauto
  5. Click the "Add New Application Password" button
  6. WordPress will generate a unique password displayed in this format: xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx
  7. Copy this password immediately. WordPress displays it only once — it cannot be retrieved again. If you close the page without copying it, you will need to generate a new one.
  8. Paste the copied password into the "Application Password" field in Blogauto.ai and save your site.
Important

Never share your main WordPress admin password with any third-party tool or service, including Blogauto.ai. We will never ask for it. Always use Application Passwords for external integrations — they are specifically designed for this purpose and can be revoked without affecting your main login.

Cannot find Application Passwords?

Application Passwords require WordPress 5.6 or higher and an HTTPS (SSL) connection. If you do not see the section, ensure your website URL starts with https:// and check if a security plugin has disabled Application Passwords. Contact your hosting provider if the issue persists.

3

Verify Your WordPress Connection

After entering your site URL, username, and Application Password, click "Test Connection." Blogauto.ai sends a request to your WordPress REST API to confirm the credentials are correct and the auto blog connection is working.

A green "Connected" badge confirms your autoblogging platform is ready to publish articles automatically. You can proceed to creating your content plan.

If the connection test fails

  • URL format: The URL must include https:// — not http:// and not just yoursite.com
  • Wrong username: Use your WordPress login username, not your email address
  • Application Password issue: Make sure you copied the full password with the spaces between character groups intact. Try generating a new Application Password if the issue continues.
  • REST API blocked: Some security plugins (Wordfence, iThemes Security) or hosting firewalls may block WordPress REST API access. Check your security plugin settings or ask your hosting provider to whitelist Blogauto.ai.
4

Create Your Content Plan

With your WordPress site connected, click "Plan Content" on your site card in the dashboard. This opens the content planner — the engine behind your SEO blog post automation.

The planner has three stages

  1. Topics: Blogauto.ai researches your website niche and automatically generates keyword-targeted topic ideas using live SEO data. You can review, edit, delete, or add topics manually before proceeding.
  2. Keywords: AI assigns a primary focus keyword and four secondary keywords to each topic, optimized for search intent and topical relevance for your autoblogging platform.
  3. Schedule: Choose total number of articles, word count per article (1000 to 5000 words), publishing frequency, number of AI images per article, and the start date.

Click "Save Plan" to activate your auto blog system. The platform generates and publishes blog posts automatically on your set schedule with no further input needed.

Getting started tip

Begin with 10 articles at 1500 words each to test your autoblogging platform setup. Review the first few published articles, then scale up your plan based on what you see.

5

Your First Article Goes Live

Once your content plan is saved, the Blogauto.ai autoblogging platform handles everything automatically. Here is exactly what happens for each article in your queue:

  1. The platform selects the next topic from your queue on schedule
  2. Claude AI (Anthropic) writes a fully formatted, SEO-optimized article at your chosen word count
  3. AI-generated images are created and sized for your article
  4. The complete article — with proper headings, meta title, meta description, and images — is published directly to your WordPress website
  5. You receive a notification email with the live article URL for your records

Your dashboard shows all published articles with their live WordPress URLs, publish dates, and status. This is blog post automation working completely hands-free, around the clock.

6

Push an Article for Early Publish

Your autoblogging platform publishes on your set schedule automatically. If you want to publish one article immediately — without waiting for the next scheduled slot — click the "Publish Now" button on your site card in the dashboard.

This triggers immediate article generation and publishing, bypassing the normal schedule. Use this feature when you want to test your setup after initial configuration, respond to a trending topic quickly, or accelerate your blog content during a launch period.

How it works

"Publish Now" generates and publishes one article immediately and deducts the appropriate credits from your balance. Your regular automatic publishing schedule continues unchanged after the early publish.

7

Bulk Upload Your Own Topic List

Prefer to use your own pre-planned topics instead of AI-generated ones? The Blogauto.ai auto blog system lets you upload a CSV or Excel file with your complete topic list directly in the content planner.

This is ideal when you have an existing content calendar, specific keyword targets, or a list of questions your audience is already searching for. Your uploaded topics are added to your publish queue and go live automatically on your chosen schedule.

File format for upload

  • Topic — the article title or subject (required)
  • Primary Keyword — the main SEO focus keyword (optional — AI will generate one if left blank)
  • Secondary Keywords — comma-separated related keywords (optional)

Access the upload option from the content planner page on any connected site.

Managing Credits

Credits are the usage currency of the Blogauto.ai autoblogging platform. Each article published consumes credits based on its word count and the number of AI images generated.

Credit cost per article

  • 1,000 – 2,000 words: 10 base credits per article
  • 2,001 – 3,000 words: 13 base credits per article
  • 3,001+ words: 15 base credits per article
  • AI images: additional credits per image with volume discounts for 4 or more images per article

Your current credit balance is shown in the top area of your dashboard. Top up at any time from the Pricing page. Publishing pauses automatically when your balance reaches zero and resumes once you add credits.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

WordPress connection shows "Failed"

  • URL must start with https:// — not http:// and not a bare domain without the protocol
  • Use your WordPress login username, not your email address, in the username field
  • Regenerate a fresh Application Password in WordPress and try again
  • Check if a security plugin (Wordfence, WP Cerber, iThemes) is blocking REST API access and temporarily disable it to test

Articles are not publishing automatically

  • Confirm your site status shows "Active" in the dashboard
  • Check your credit balance — blog post automation pauses when credits reach zero
  • Verify your content plan has topics with "To Do" status remaining in the queue

Images are missing or fewer than expected

  • Image generation occasionally fails due to brief API unavailability. The article is still published successfully — the missing images are noted and may be retried.
  • Check that your content plan has image count set to 1 or more in the schedule settings.

Is my WordPress website safe when connected to Blogauto.ai?
Yes, completely safe. We use WordPress Application Passwords — a built-in WordPress security feature that provides limited, revocable API access for blog post publishing only. We cannot access your admin panel, existing content, themes, plugins, or any settings. You can revoke access instantly from your WordPress profile page at any time, without affecting your main login.
How many websites can I connect to the autoblogging platform?
The number of sites depends on your plan. Free Trial allows one site to test the platform. Paid plans support multiple sites — check the Pricing page for current plan limits and site allowances.
What kind of content does the auto blog system create?
Blogauto.ai generates original, SEO-optimized long-form blog posts using Claude AI (by Anthropic). Each article is keyword-targeted, properly formatted with H1, H2, and H3 headings, written specifically for your website's niche and tone based on your site context, and designed to rank in search engines. Your articles are never copied or duplicated from other sources.
Can I edit articles before they publish automatically?
Currently the SEO blog post automation workflow publishes articles on schedule automatically. You can view all published articles in your Blogauto dashboard and edit them at any time directly in WordPress after they go live. A pre-publish review mode is on our product roadmap.
What happens when I run out of credits?
Article generation and automatic publishing pauses when your credit balance reaches zero. Your site settings, active content plan, and topic queue are all saved. Top up from the Pricing page and publishing resumes immediately from where it stopped — no setup needed.
